About Benoist Lapouza
Benoist Lapouza is a French perfumer whose career has taken him through Givaudan, Quest, Takasago and Drom. He works across designer and niche brands, including Anna Sui, Lolita Lempicka, Lalique, Fendi, Courrèges, Escada, Bon Parfumeur and Kilian. He is also known for a collaboration with chef Alain Passard that drew on culinary ideas.
He compares building a perfume to composing music, layering top, heart and base. His work often pairs bright openings with warm bases of tonka, sandalwood, musk and almond. His best-known credit is Kilian Angels' Share (2020), a cognac-inspired gourmand. Other works include Anna Sui Dolly Girl (2003), Lolita Lempicka Si Lolita (2009) and Lalique Soleil (2019). He also composed Escada Santorini Sunrise (2022).
