About Christine Nagel

Christine Nagel is a Swiss perfumer, born in 1959 and raised in Geneva. She studied organic chemistry and began at Firmenich in research and chromatography, learning to identify materials by smell. She later ran her own perfumery business in Italy and moved to Paris in 1997. She joined Hermès in 2014 as director of olfactive creation. In 2016 she became the house's sole in-house perfumer.

Nagel favours simplicity and names Germaine Cellier as a special inspiration. She believes anyone can wear any fragrance, whatever its masculine or feminine label. She co-created Narciso Rodriguez For Her (2003) with Francis Kurkdjian and created Giorgio Armani Sì (2013). For Jo Malone London she composed Peony & Blush Suede (2013) and Wood Sage & Sea Salt (2014). At Hermès her work includes Twilly d'Hermès (2017) and H24 (2021).
