About Fabrice Pellegrin
Fabrice Pellegrin is a French perfumer born in Grasse. His father was a perfumer, his grandmother picked jasmine and his grandfather supplied natural ingredients. He studied in Grasse from 1989 to 1995 and learned the trade at Robertet. He worked at Mane from 1995 to 2008, then joined Firmenich, now dsm-firmenich. There he is director of natural product innovation. He won the Prix François Coty in 2021.
Pellegrin favours simple, well-structured compositions. He uses synthetics to enrich natural materials rather than replace them, and has developed new extraction processes. His work includes Diptyque Do Son (2005), Mugler Womanity (2010) and Parfums de Marly Safanad (2013). He created Kilian Smoke for the Soul (2014) and co-created Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal (2017). In 2017 Cosmétique Mag named him Perfumer of the Year.
