About Fanny Bal

Fanny Bal is a French perfumer at International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF), where she started as a junior perfumer. She trained at ISIPCA in Versailles. In 2011, while still a student, she began training with perfumer Dominique Ropion. He taught her to dose precisely, write short formulas and organise her materials by family.

She is known for combining unexpected ingredients in layered compositions, inspired by art, nature and personal experience. She co-created Givenchy L'Interdit Eau de Parfum (2018) and Irresistible (2020), and worked on L'Interdit Rouge (2021). Her other work includes Carolina Herrera Bad Boy Le Parfum (2021) and Mugler Alien Fusion. For Frédéric Malle she composed Promise and Sale Gosse.
