About Mathilde Laurent
Mathilde Laurent has been the in-house perfumer of Cartier since 2005. She was born in Montparnasse, Paris, into a family of artists. She earned a degree in chemistry and physics, then trained at ISIPCA in Versailles. She began at Guerlain in the early 1990s with an internship under Jean-Paul Guerlain and stayed about 11 years. She is also one of the experts who oversaw the Grand Musée du Parfum in Paris.
Her work joins an artistic upbringing with scientific training, mixing natural and synthetic materials. L'Heure Perdue (2015) used only lab-made molecules to create a soft, warm scent. At Guerlain she created Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune (1999). At Cartier her best-known work includes La Panthère (2014), Oud & Santal (2016), Carat (2018) and Pasha de Cartier Parfum (2020).
