About Michel Almairac
Michel Almairac is a French perfumer, born in Grasse in 1953. He began studying perfumery in 1972 at the Roure school, now part of Givaudan. He worked for Takasago, Créations Aromatiques and Drom, and has been with Robertet since the late 1990s. He is the exclusive perfumer for Parle Moi de Parfum, the house founded by his son Benjamin. He trained perfumers including Annick Ménardo.
Almairac is known for technical skill and a restrained hand. He prefers short formulas in which no single material dominates. Early work includes Eau de Gucci (1982) and L'Artisan Parfumeur Voleur de Roses (1993). He later created Gucci Rush (1999) and Le Labo Ambrette 9 (2006). He composed the Chloé Eau de Parfum (2007) and the first Bottega Veneta fragrance (2011).
