About Olivier Polge
Olivier Polge is a French perfumer born in Grasse, the son of perfumer Jacques Polge. He first wanted to be a classical pianist and studied art history. He then trained at the Charabot and ACM fragrance schools. He joined International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) as a trainee perfumer in 1998. In 2013 he was announced as his father's successor as in-house perfumer at a historic Paris fashion house. He won the Prix International du Parfum in 2009.
His style is described as minimalist and abstract. He likes to use few ingredients to suggest a single material or note, and often draws on city landscapes. During his IFF years he co-created Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb (2005) and Spicebomb (2012), and Lancôme La Vie Est Belle (2012). He also worked on Armani Code for Women (2006), Dolce&Gabbana The One for Men (2008) and Jimmy Choo's eponymous fragrance (2011).
