About Richard Herpin
Richard Herpin is a French perfumer, born and raised in Cannes. He grew up among antiques and the smells of his father's shop. Pierre Bourdon introduced him to perfumery through smelling sessions and became his mentor. Over more than 25 years he has created for Amouage, Ralph Lauren, Tom Ford and Van Cleef & Arpels. He now works independently and co-founded the brand Precious Liquid with his wife, Geo.
Herpin's best-known creation is Tom Ford Oud Wood (2007). He later created Oud Wood Intense (2017) and Patchouli Absolu (2014) for Tom Ford. His other work includes Amouage Opus VIII (2014), Bond No. 9 Coney Island (2007) and Clean Skin Reserve Blend (2015). With Precious Liquid he focuses on pure, fresh and clean scents.
