About Olivier Cresp
Olivier Cresp is a French perfumer, born in Grasse in 1955 into a family that grew flowers and traded perfume raw materials. His sister is the perfumer Françoise Caron. He studied raw materials in the United States, then worked at De Laire and later Quest. He joined Firmenich, now dsm-firmenich, in 1992. He became a Master Perfumer in 2006 and a Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres in 2012. Since 2018 he has also composed for Akro, his family's own brand.
Cresp says he looks for one strong, unusual concept that will turn heads. His best-known early work is Mugler Angel (1992), created with Yves de Chiris. He also created Dolce&Gabbana Light Blue (2001) and Rabanne Black XS (2005). Later projects include Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium (2014) and Mon Paris (2016), and Givenchy Gentleman (2017), each made with other perfumers.
