About Honorine Blanc
Honorine Blanc is a Master Perfumer at dsm-firmenich, based in New York. She was born in Beirut and trained at ISIPCA after first studying in Paris. An offer to be mentored by Master Perfumer Sophia Grojsman brought her to New York, where she has lived since. She has also worked with IFF and Fragrance Resources.
She describes her work as deliberately imperfect yet addictive, built on tension and emotion. She favours risk-taking over rigid rules and cites the painter Gerhard Richter as an inspiration. Her best-known creation is Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium (2014), a coffee-and-vanilla gourmand that has spawned many flankers. She also composed Juicy Couture Viva la Juicy Gold Couture (2014) and Lancôme La Nuit Trésor à la Folie (2018). Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia (2021) is hers too. More recent work includes Valentino Donna Born in Roma Intense (2023) and Azzaro The Most Wanted Intense (2024).
Honorine Blanc created Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium, Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia and Valentino Donna Born in Roma Intense. She also composed Lancôme La Nuit Trésor à la Folie, Azzaro Forever Wanted Elixir and Fragrance One Day for Women.
