About Jorge Lee
Jorge Lee is a senior perfumer born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia. He studied economics before entering the fragrance industry. A headhunter recruited him for Quest International's new Bogotá office, where he moved from marketing into evaluation. He later worked at Givaudan and is now listed with MG International Fragrance Company.
He is inspired by local raw materials such as Isparta rose and mastic. He uses woody notes with care so they do not overpower a composition. He is best known for his long work with the Istanbul niche house Nishane. His credits there include Sultan Vetiver (2013), Tuberoza (2014), Ambra Calabria (2015) and Wulóng Chá (2015). He also created Fan Your Flames (2016) and Hacivat (2017), his most reviewed work on Fragrantica.
Jorge Lee created many Nishane fragrances, including Hacivat, Wulóng Chá, Fan Your Flames, Ambra Calabria, Tuberoza and Sultan Vetiver. He has also worked for Unique'e Luxury, Navitus Parfums and Alghabra Parfums.
