About Loc Dong

Loc Dong is a perfumer born in Vietnam in 1972, now with Symrise. His grandfather was a herbalist, and medicinal plants gave him his first lessons in smell. He left Vietnam alone at eleven and arrived in the United States in 1982. He trained in Holzminden and joined Haarmann & Reimer in 1992. He moved to IFF in New York in 2002, then to Paris in 2012, and joined Symrise in 2023.

His formulas draw on his roots, his travels and the traditions of his elders. He created the first Marc Jacobs perfume (2001). Other well-known credits include Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gioia (2010) and Yves Saint Laurent Manifesto (2012). He also made Issey Miyake Nuit d'Issey (2014), Rabanne Olympéa (2015) and Rabanne Phantom (2021). Recent work includes Rabanne Million Gold For Her (2024).
