About Ilias Ermenidis
Ilias Ermenidis is a principal perfumer at dsm-firmenich in Paris. He was born in Istanbul, grew up partly in Athens and moved to France at 18. His interest began during summer internships at his father's flavour and fragrance factory. He studied at ISIPCA in Versailles for three years and trained further at Créations Aromatiques. In 1986 Firmenich hired him as its first perfumer trainee from ISIPCA.
After years in Geneva and Paris, he spent about 25 years in New York before returning to Paris in 2019. His breakthrough was Victoria's Secret Heavenly, which won a FiFi Award in 2000. He has also created for Givenchy, Gucci and Vera Wang. Recent niche work includes Parfums de Marly Althaïr (2023), a vanilla-led scent co-created with Hamid Merati-Kashani. He also composed Nishane Ege and the Eternal Journey trio.
