About Pierre Bourdon
Pierre Bourdon is a French perfumer, born in Paris in 1946. He studied political science before training for five years at Roure in Grasse. In 1982 he co-founded Takasago's European operation and served as its head perfumer for nine years. He later spent two years as creative director at Quest and ran the French branch of Fragrance Resources as CEO. He has mentored several of today's working perfumers.
Bourdon helped define the modern fresh fougère for men. Kouros for Yves Saint Laurent (1981) and Creed Green Irish Tweed (1985) are his best-known works from that period. He also co-created Féminité du Bois for Shiseido (1992), a woody feminine scent. Later he worked with Frédéric Malle on Iris Poudre (2000) and French Lover (2007), and with MDCI on Ambre Topkapi (2003).
Pierre Bourdon created Yves Saint Laurent Kouros (1981) and Creed Green Irish Tweed (1985). He also worked on Creed Silver Mountain Water (1995), Shiseido Féminité du Bois (1992) and Frédéric Malle Iris Poudre (2000).
