About Ann Gottlieb
Ann Gottlieb is an American fragrance developer rather than a bench perfumer. She calls herself a marketer with a very good nose. She started at Estée Lauder at 24 and rose to head of product development there in six and a half years. In 1983 she founded Ann Gottlieb Associates. She works as a link between brands and fragrance houses. The Fragrance Foundation inducted her into its Hall of Fame in 2018.
She shapes the brief and guides perfumers until a scent matches the brand's idea. Vanilla has been her favourite note throughout her career. Her projects include Marc Jacobs Daisy and its Daisy Dream flanker (2014), and Marc Jacobs Decadence (2015). She also worked on Carolina Herrera 212 Men (1999), Elizabeth Arden 5th Avenue (1996) and Axe Dark Temptation.
Ann Gottlieb has guided the development of Marc Jacobs Daisy, Daisy Dream (2014) and Decadence (2015), Carolina Herrera 212 Men (1999), Elizabeth Arden 5th Avenue (1996) and Axe Dark Temptation, working with perfumers at the big fragrance houses.
The Scent Stories® stocks authentic, brand-packaged samples, miniatures, testers and full bottles of Ann Gottlieb's creations, including Marc Jacobs Decadence and Carolina Herrera 212 NYC Men. You can try a fragrance on your own skin before buying a full bottle.
