About Beverley Bayne
Beverley Bayne is a perfumer based in the United Kingdom. She entered the industry by accident, applying for an assistant role in a fragrance laboratory before being offered training as a perfumer. She learned on the job from mentors rather than at a perfumery school. By 2013 she had spent about 35 years in fragrance, nearly 12 of them at CPL Aromas in the UK.
Bayne favours natural materials and values the freedom of niche briefs over market-tested projects. Her best-known work is Pomegranate Noir for Jo Malone London, launched in 2005 and later reissued. In 2011 she reworked Penhaligon's Eau Sans Pareil, keeping its powdery aldehydic character and adding orris and musk. For Clive Christian she composed 1872 Vetiver in 2016 and Vision in a Dream Mesmeric in 2017.
