About Richard Ibanez
Richard Ibanez is a Grasse-based perfumer who has spent his whole career, more than three decades, at Robertet. The family-owned French house is known for its natural raw materials. He has also mentored younger perfumers there, including Serge de Oliveira, whom he introduced to vetiver and patchouli. Parfumo credits him with more than 40 fragrances.
Ibanez centres his work on natural ingredients and balances complexity with wearability. He draws on memories, cinema, music and spice markets, and often works from mood boards. His credits include Divine Eau de Parfum (1986) and Cuir Garamante for Parfums MDCI (2013). For Lalique he created Living Lalique (2015) and Rêve d'Infini (2016). He also made Santal Volcanique for Maison Crivelli (2018).
