Coach

Coach was founded in Manhattan's garment district in 1941 by six leather artisans, initially producing wallets and billfolds by hand before expanding into handbags. The brand's growth — from a single loft to a global luxury accessories empire — was driven by the quality of their bonded leather, the durability of their construction, and an accessible price point that made them the defining 'affordable luxury' brand of American fashion. Reed Krakoff's tenure as creative director (1996-2013) expanded Coach into a full lifestyle brand; Stuart Vevers (2013-present) has added fashion-forward identity to the heritage. Tapestry Inc. (formerly Coach Inc.) now owns Coach alongside Kate Spade and Stuart Weitzman. The fragrance programme began in 2013 under an Inter Parfums licence, with a philosophy of translating the brand's playful New York optimism into scent.

Coach fragrances are created through Inter Parfums' relationships with leading perfumers. Coach Dreams (2021) was created by Nicolas Beaulieu — using solar notes, jasmine, peach, ambrette, and blonde woods to evoke the sense of a glorious American morning. Coach Floral (2017), created by David Apel and Juliette Karagueuzoglou, used magnolia, peach, rose, and cedarwood to create the brand's signature feminine warmth. Wild Rose (2018), also by Beaulieu, brought deeper raspberry and cashmere musks into the palette. Coach for Men (2016) introduced an unexpected freshness — suede, green tea, and sage — that surprised with its sophistication.

Coach Dreams (2021) has become the house's most successful recent fragrance — a fresh, solar floral of jasmine, peach, and blonde woods that captures the optimism of an American summer morning. The bottle, featuring Coach's iconic horse-and-carriage motif, embodies the brand's New York heritage. Coach Floral remains the bestselling feminine for its warm, approachable magnolia-rose-cedarwood composition. Dreaming (2020), with gardenia, jasmine, and musk, introduced a more intimate direction. Coach Dreams Sunset (2021) added warmth and orange blossom for cooler weather.

Coach occupies accessible luxury — EDPs from €50-€80 — making it one of the most competitive values in genuine prestige perfumery. The American leather goods heritage lends the fragrances an authenticity that comparable-priced fashion house fragrances from less craft-rooted brands often lack.
