Xerjoff

Xerjoff was founded in Turin, Italy in 2003 by Sergio Momo, a designer and entrepreneur whose passion for fine materials and artisanal craftsmanship found its purest expression in fragrance. Turin — Italy's city of baroque architecture, fine chocolate, and vermouth culture — provided the aesthetic framework: rich, layered, deliberately excessive in its beauty. Momo built Xerjoff around a founding philosophy that fragrance and flacon are equal partners — each bottle is hand-crafted with crystal, porcelain, leather, and gold leaf, making Xerjoff among the most collectible objects in the world of luxury fragrance. The brand is independently owned, distributed selectively, and consistently positions itself at the absolute summit of luxury niche perfumery.

Xerjoff works with leading perfumers whose identity is rarely disclosed publicly — consistent with the house's philosophy of brand vision above individual artist promotion. Their compositions are understood to involve work from top Grasse perfumers and independent fragrance artists. Naxos (2013) — the house's most celebrated masculine — uses tobacco absolute, ylang-ylang, honey, and lavender over vanilla and musks to create an extraordinary warmth. Alexandria II (2010) uses bergamot, rose, oud, woods, and amber in a grand oriental that was among the first Western mainstream uses of genuine oud at designer scale. Casamorati (1888), their historical Italian fragrance sub-brand, recovers 19th century Modenese fragrance formulas.

Naxos (2013) is Xerjoff's most globally beloved masculine — a warm, complex composition of tobacco absolute, ylang-ylang, honey, lavender, coumarin, vanilla, and amber that creates an intimacy and depth entirely unlike other masculines at any price. The fragrance community's devotion to Naxos is exceptional: it regularly leads 'best masculine I have ever smelled' discussions and has introduced thousands of fragrance enthusiasts to the ultra-luxury niche tier. Alexandria II (2010) — a citrus-rose-oud-woods-amber composition — is the house's most quintessentially oriental masculine and demonstrates their expertise in using genuine Arabic raw materials within a Western fine fragrance structure. Casamorati Fiero (bergamot, cardamom, rose, sandalwood) is beloved for its Italian elegance.

Xerjoff sits at ultra-luxury — EDPs from €200-€600 for 50ml — positioning it alongside Amouage and By Kilian at the absolute summit of luxury niche perfumery. The hand-crafted flacons alone justify consideration as collectibles beyond the fragrance itself.
