Moschino

Franco Moschino was born in Abbiategrasso, near Milan in 1950 and worked as a fashion illustrator for Gianni Versace before founding his own brand in 1983. Moschino became fashion's foremost satirist — a designer who used luxury clothing as a vehicle for social criticism, subversive humour, and pop art references. His collections featured hearts, peace signs, and slogans like 'Waist of Money' sewn onto the garments themselves; his 1988 Olive Oyl dress became one of fashion's most discussed satirical statements. He died in 1994 at age 44 of an AIDS-related heart condition; creative director Jeremy Scott has maintained and extended Moschino's irreverent spirit since 2013. The fragrance programme, managed through EuroItalian licensing, translates the brand's theatrical humour into collectible olfactive objects.

Fresh Couture (2015) — Moschino's most famous fragrance concept — presents the bottle as a miniature cleaning product (floor cleaner), with Jeremy Scott's characteristic pop-art irony applied to the luxury fragrance form. The fragrance inside — a crisp, clean composition of neroli, iris, and musks — creates an intentional paradox: the luxury fragrance presented as domestic product, the domestic product that happens to smell extraordinary. Toy 2 (2018) — housed in a teddy bear flacon with a spray in the bear's back — extended the house's toy and nostalgia references into perfume.

Moschino Toy 2 (2018) has become the house's most beloved and commercially successful fragrance — the teddy bear bottle has become a cultural object in its own right, displayed on shelves and dressing tables worldwide. Its fragrance composition — sandalwood, musks, and soft florals — is warm and approachable, designed to match the bear's inviting aesthetic. Fresh Couture (2015) remains the house's most conceptually significant fragrance — a flower-cleaning-product that became one of the most photographed bottles in beauty retail. Gold Fresh Couture (2016) added a warmer, more oriental interpretation.

Moschino occupies accessible luxury — EDPs from €55-€90 — with a unique brand proposition: you are purchasing both a fragrance and a collectible pop-art object. No other accessible luxury house invests as much creative intelligence in the flacon as both art and commercial product simultaneously.
