Moncler

Moncler was founded in Monestier-de-Clermont, France (the 'Mon-Cler' contraction) in 1952 by René Ramillon and André Vincent as an outdoor equipment company creating quilted sleeping bags and tents for Alpine mountaineers. Their quilted down jackets — originally workwear for factory workers operating in freezing conditions — were adopted by the French Olympic ski team in 1968 and by high-altitude mountaineers including the 1954 Karakoram expedition that first summited K2. Remo Ruffini acquired the brand in 2003 and transformed it from a functional outerwear manufacturer into one of the most sought-after luxury fashion brands in the world, with their signature quilted down jacket becoming a global status symbol. The fragrance programme, launched in 2016, translates the brand's Alpine luxury identity into olfactive territory.

Moncler Pour Homme (2016), using bergamot, leather, woods, and musk, captures the brand's Alpine luxury character — the sensation of cold mountain air and warm quilted cashmere. Moncler Pour Femme (2016) provides a crisp, floral feminine counterpart. Moncler Collection (2020) expanded into warmer oriental directions for both genders.

Moncler Pour Homme (2016) is the house's most successful masculine — a bergamot-leather-wood composition that achieves the olfactive equivalent of their quilted jacket: luxury warmth in an outdoor context. The Alpine heritage is palpable without resorting to obvious pine or snow accords. Moncler Pour Femme provides a fresher, more clearly feminine parallel.
