United Colors of Benetton is an Italian fashion brand founded in Treviso in 1965 by siblings Luciano, Giuliana, Gilberto, and Carlo Benetton. Known for their colourful knitwear and provocative 'United Colors' advertising campaigns shot by Oliviero Toscani throughout the 1980s-90s, Benetton became one of the first fashion brands to use advertising for social commentary rather than product promotion. Their fragrance programme produces accessible, cheerful feminines and masculines consistent with the brand's colourful, democratic aesthetic.
